Coving tends to have a simpler, uniform C-shaped curve and is often made from lightweight materials such as polyurethane or polystyrene. It’s typically used in more modern or minimal interiors where subtlety is key. Cornice, on the other hand, is more decorative and detailed. It often features intricate patterns, stepped profiles, and classical motifs, adding a sense of grandeur and architectural character to a room. Cornicing is traditionally crafted from fibrous plaster, offering a superior finish and greater design depth.
